AT.l DISPENSATIONAL STUDIES -
Credit Units = 5
The study of the seven dispensations and the eight covenants is
foundational to biblical theology and doctrine. It provides an
overview of God and his eternal immutable plan for man and the
universe. This study begins and ends with time as a parenthesis within
eternity. This subject will give structure to all biblical subjects,
ranging from Origins to Eschatology.
AT.2 MAJOR JUDGMENTS - Credit Units = 2
This study reveals the doctrine, as shown in Scripture, of the Seven
Major Judgments: Judgment of Sin at Calvary; Believer's Self Judgment;
Judgment of Believers' Works; Judgment of Gentile Nations; Judgment of
Israel, Judgment of Satan and Fallen Angels and the Great White Throne
Judgment. Who or what is judged, purpose of the judgment, time of
judgment, extent and nature of each judgment is also examined.
AT.3 OLD TESTAMENT SURVEY AND INTRODUCTION
Credit Units = 5
Provides students with a grasp of the central purpose, theme,
background, `author' and timeline of each book of the Old Testament of
the Bible, while revealing the Bible as one book, one history, one
story, one cohesive whole.
AT.4 TABERNACLE IN THE WILDERNESS - Credit
Units = 5
The typology in this study depicts Christ and his redemptive work at
Calvary, as well as the believer and his redemptive experiences.
Fulfillment and correlation of an Old Testament `happening' are
revealed in the New Testament books of St. John and Hebrews. Jesus
said "Search the Scriptures . . ." for those things
concerning himself.
AT.5 OLD TESTAMENT CHRISTOLOGY - Credit
Units = 3
Each of the seven `tokens' or `types' covered in this study teach a
graphic pictorial lesson of Christ's redemptive work and/or work of
sanctification in the believer through heavy typology.
AT.6 THE FOUR HUNDRED SILENT YEARS - Credit
Units = 2
This study covers the time period between Malachi, the last book of
the Old Testament, and John the Baptist of the New Testament. Study of
the Scripture and the history of that age (where God was seemingly
silent, as compared to his works prior to and following) will
successfully bridge the gap for the student.
AT.7 NEW TESTAMENT SURVEY AND INTRODUCTION
Credit Units = 5
Provides students with a grasp of the central purpose, background,
`author' and timeline of each book of the New Testament of the Bible,
while revealing the Bible as one book, one history, one story, one
cohesive whole.
AT.B INTRODUCTION TO BIBLE DOCTRINE
Credit Units = 5
This study places the basic doctrines of the Bible into orderly form
and allows the student to master a general overview of the subject
content.
AT.9 THE HOLY SPIRIT (Pneumatology) - Credit
Units = 5
This study reveals the Holy Spirit as a Person of the Godhead. Study
is centered on his personality, deity, work in the Old Testament, his
operation and work in the world; during the time of Christ's earthly
life, prior to that time, and during the Church Age. The Gifts of the
Spirit are also covered in detail.
AT.l0 THE CHURCH (Ecclesiology) - Credit
Units = 5
This comprehensive study addresses ten areas of the Church, made up of
the Body of Believers in Christ Jesus. Study includes the beginning of
the Church, its baptisms and titles, the local Church, Church
government, elders, deacons and women in the Church, the work of the
Church and its tools, and the future of the Church.
AT.l1 MINISTER'S ETHICS AND FORMALITIES
Credit Units = 3
This study is intended to introduce the student to the ethical crisis
in our world today and the need for learning, as well as a discussion
on, Bible based ethics. Further, this study addresses a few of the
many formal functions which ministers are commonly called upon either
to attend, conduct or perform, the manners and protocol necessary to
officiate properly, and scriptural background to guard against
compromising biblical standards.
AT.l2 HOMILETICS - Credit Units = 3
Students are taught the science of Homiletics and the preparation and
delivery of sermons, as well as pulpit skills. The three major sermon
methodologies commonly used today are a focal point; textual, topical
and expository. In addition, the logical and psychological progression
in both the planning and delivery of sermons is dealt with.
AT.l3 MINISTERIAL THEOLOGY - Credit Units =

This study illustrates the scriptural outline for ministers, and the
workings of their ministry and calling. The scriptural position is
shown to instruct laity and/or ministers with regard to their calling,
mission, personality, pulpit work, devotions stewardship, pastoral
activities, leadership, mental and physical disciplines, obstacles to
growth.
AT.l4 CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Credit Units = 3
This study teaches the believer the importance of, and the value in,
maintaining regular and scriptural devotional habits.
AT.l5 FINAL PAPER, THESIS OR DISSERTATION
Credit Units = 3
The Final Paper reveals the student's grasp of the information he/she
has been studying to this point, as well as the ability to communicate
that information intelligently and clearly. A Thesis Form is provided
with each course instructing students in the precise layout and
information required for the Final Paper, and must be followed
exactly. A Final Paper of three thousand words is required; typed,
double spaced with no mistakes, a title sheet, title sheet with author
information, a dedication sheet, introduction, table of contents,
textual body including footnotes or endnotes, and a bibliography. The
Final Paper is under separate cover from Course Work. Subject for
Final Paper in the Associate of Theology is provided by our office, or
by the student, with SBTS approval.
